Glenlivet 25 year, 1995, The Navigator 2021
Rare as rocking-horse manure! Are you serious? A single cask, cask strength, official bottling of Glenlivet, and selected by La Maison du Whisky? Never seen before in SA, and probably not for decades anywhere. What a treat. Baked fruit tart, signature florals, hint of marzipan. Nothing pulls it down, poised an perfect, and surely the best speysider I have had. Oh ya, its 25 yrs old too.

I love this, but I love funky estery rums. Banana, pineapple, sea spray, some positive estery solvents, light vanilla, light caramel. A weighty spirit despite its light colour, full of congeners and esters, complex and long. If you like bold flavours, then this rare single cask Clairin will blow you away.

One of the easiest bottle kills in recent times! This stuff is slippery! Beautiful smooth profile, but with Hampden DNA, some bananas and tars from esters, burnt cane. Bought a few of these as gifts to introduce friends to proper high ester Jamaican rum.
